Some of you have been with me since I started sending these emails back in 2013 when I predominantly created ceramics, then in 2015 I started creating performance, thank you for your continued support means the world to me.![]() It’s incredible to reflect on the journey so far, from working with clay to now exploring performance art. My latest project, Trwsio, has been brewing (pun intended!) since 2018, inspired by the breakage and repair of my grandmother’s cherished teapot. Thank you for walking this path with me here is a little more about TRWSIO Nine-Month Journey into Healing and Wholeness: Exploring “What Is Broken, and How Do We Mend?”TRWSIO (“Mend” in Welsh), an immersive exhibition by Joanna Bond, marks the culmination of her nine-month exploration into the themes of trauma, repair, and becoming whole. Held at Elysium Gallery in Swansea, this multidisciplinary showcase weaves together film, performance, sound, painting, drawing, and dance to unravel the roots of trauma and illuminate the pathways to healing. The exhibition invites audiences to reflect on the universal experience of fragmentation and the quest for wholeness. Exhibition Highlights Throughout her creative journey, Joanna collaborated with esteemed dancers, performance artists, makers, and musicians, engaging in profound conversations around themes such as ritual, masks, the coliseum, multidimensionality, and the transformative power of creativity. These explorations deeply informed her studio practice, shaping the evocative works featured in TRWSIO.
