Joanna Bond

Interdisciplinary Artist

As an interdisciplinary artist, Joanna draws inspiration from her personal experiences as a woman, mother, and permaculturist. Her practice encompasses various forms of expression, including dance, ceramics, music, voice,  performance art and collage. Through photography, film, and audio recording, she documents her creative journey.

Joanna’s work reveres nature, activism, motherhood, healing, animism, spirit, earth, and soma intelligence. These themes infuse her art, creating a rich tapestry of interconnected ideas.

Since 2008, Joanna has exhibited and performed at prestigious venues, including Chapter Arts Centre, g39, Elysium, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Aberystwyth Museum, Aberystwyth University, and the Ceredigion Art Trail. She has won awards from art council of wales and Then Ashley family Foundation  Joanna likes working collaboratively to provide an immersive and often interactive experience for the audience. Her ongoing collaboration with partner Stuart Hampton has yielded powerful performances, songs, and films. Recently, they portrayed John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the Velvet Chapel project, directed by Kevin Allen and filmed by Tinopolis Media Production.

Since 2008, Joanna has been facilitating creative community workshops for people of all ages and abilities. In 2021, she founded a group called Mama Creatives, which provided a space for mothers to explore their thoughts and feelings through creativity while also supporting mother artists through paid work in facilitating workshops.
