Trwsio: The Story of Healing Through Art and Life
I want to start with a quote from my mentor, teacher, and someone I now consider soul family, Xi Earth Star healer. She has shared so much wisdom with me, and I want to share one with you now “ view every situation good or bad with the presence of divine love’
The Beginnings of TRWSIO
TRWSIO, meaning “mend” in Welsh, emerged from my personal healing journey. Its roots trace back to 2019 when I received a runner-up award from the Ceredigion Arts Trail for an exhibition titled “Finding Wabi Sabi in Motherhood.”This project revolved around the conscious repair of my maternal grandmother’s teapot using kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold.
Under the guidance of an experienced Japanese artist, I learned the traditional kintsugi method. For six months, I dedicated three hours a week to repairing the teapot. The process was slow but profoundly meditative. I documented the journey with my phone, which later inspired a song. The footage and music were edited into a short film—a fusion of art, memory, and healing.
The act of repairing the teapot became a vessel for processing deep-seated traumas, many connected to womanhood and motherhood.
Personal Traumas Interwoven
In 2015, I left an an unloving eight year marriage with my six-year-old child. Another turning point came after the birth of my second child. At seven months postpartum, I underwent life-saving surgery for an ectopic pregnancy, resulting in the removal of a fallopian tube. The physical and emotional pain lingered for years.
When my grandmother’s teapot broke in 2018 a year after the ectopic pregnancy, it symbolized my inner fractures. Repairing it became an act of self-healing, and seeking wholeness.
A Journey Through Community
From 2019 to 2023, I lived with my two daughters and partner on a permaculture smallholding in South West Wales, not far from where my grandmother grew up in Pembrey. This intentional community comprised seven adults and five children, all directors of the shared space. Together, we worked the land, grew food, and supported one another.
The experience was both rewarding and challenging. While raising a toddler, I faced recurrent health issues, hospitalizations, and overwhelming fatigue. Yet, there were moments of magic: singing around the fire, tending the earth, and finding solace in the ancient woods. My daughters thrived in the 37-acre expanse, which became their playground and as a mother this made me so happy that they fostered a connection with the natural world.
However, community living isn’t without its difficulties. Tensions arose, particularly with one member, despite attempts at mediation and counseling. This strained relationship underscored how unhealed childhood and adult traumas can complicate communal dynamics.
Healing the Womb
The ancients understood that when women felt safe exhubrand, sacred and honoured, it directly influenced the health and prosperity of their society. In contrast, modern society often fails to uphold this wisdom. As a result, many women, myself included, have struggled with feelings of depression, rage, and abuse from others and also self-hatred. Yet within us lies a profound power—one that, when reclaimed, can be a force for immense good.
In 2021, I embarked on a deeper journey of womb healing to attune my body to its wisdom with Xi Earthstar Healer through a nine-week women’s container called Healing the Womb. This transformative experience awakened the feminine energy of the womb and revealed its sacredness as a source of love and healing. Through this work, I engaged in energetic, spiritual, mental, and emotional healing, reconnecting with the womb as a sacred centre of creation and restoration.
Since then, I have completed over 150 lessons, activations, and clearing where I experienced miraculous healing. During this time, my third eye activated, and I had a profound vision of angelic wings emerging in my mind’s eye—a powerful symbol of transformation and divine connection.
This journey has encompassed somatic healing, emotional release, clearing shame, inner child healing, and even soul-level restoration. It has allowed me to heal wounds from this life and past lives and reconnect with my essence, paving the way for deeper self-awareness and spiritual growth.
Earth Star Academy
I Joined Earth Star Academy in 2022 . Through daily practice of meditations, journaling, sound chambers, clearing, gridwork, Q&A, I continue to work to release the trauma stored in my body, light body, DNA. This journey of healing has informed much of the inspiration for this project, I would be making notes about healing and images of performances, poems, and drawings started to emerge.
In 2023 I began writing a funding application to the Arts council Wales my grandmother’s teapot and the messages that it holds felt like it needed to be told. such as how trauma can be stored in the body, and we actively need to go in and heal,
how she was caned in school for speaking Welsh, a punishment that silenced the language in our family. She didn’t teach Welsh to my mother, and I, in turn, grew up in an English-speaking environment. Visiting her in Pembrey was one of the rare occasions I heard Welsh, and it connected me to a heritage I longed to reclaim.
The act of repairing her teapot became symbolic of repairing these intergenerational “cracks.” and parts of my body and that have fallen out of orgainci resonance. It is my
Moving Forward
TRWSIO represents far more than the mending of a teapot—it symbolizes the restoration of my body, mind and spirit, a reconnection to my ancestry, and a profound commitment to healing as part of ushering in a golden age. It serves as a reminder of the sacredness of life on this planet and the intricate interconnection between our bodies, the Earth, and the cosmos.
As I continue this journey, I believe it is my destiny to translate these deep complex teachings and explorations of human and planetary trauma into art. Through TRWSIO, I aim to create art, meaningful community workshops and gatherings for both adults and children, offering spaces for collective healing, growth, and transformation.
